We have been reading the Hunger Games series together :-) We started over Christmas break and would spend our evenings lying on the floor by his fireplace taking turns reading. Does it get any cuter than that?? We've finished the first and second and will be starting the third one soon. It's a good series.
Jake and I went to a Hunger Games festival with some friends the night of the opening show and took part in a reaping, archery lessons, combat training, and dressing up.
Archery training (ya, it was with a plastic bow - pretty lame but we made it fun)
Dan and Jake were dressed up like people from District 4 - the fishing district (they are wearing fishing net and Dan is holding a trident)
Learning to sword fight
Sharli, her big belly, and her almost bull-eye. Sharli's water broke just one hour after the midnight showing ended. They made the long drive back home to Logan, where Sharli gave birth to an adorable little boy after 48 hours of no sleep and 24 hours of no food. Poor thing. Cute little boy though.
Jake and I got to go to our first Real Salt Lake soccer game a few weeks ago thanks to his sister and brother-in-law! We were only going to stay for the first half because both of us had homework/real work to get back to but we were having so much fun we stayed for the whole thing. Too bad I didn't look cuter for this picture but I wasn't planning on going out so naturally I had a very plain ponytail.
Most recently we met in Salt Lake and enjoyed dinner together at this cute little hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant. Jake has visited Thailand twice and absolutely loves it! He talks about missing the food all the time so I surprised him by taking him to this cute little restaurant by the library. It was very delicious!
Well, there is a quick update on a few things Jake and I have enjoyed! We've also enjoyed a few hikes, a midnight one in particular was my favorite, and late nights with me doing homework and Jake working on projects for work. Life is crazy. It's going by too fast, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.
It sounds like you are having lots of fun. That's awesome you got so into the Hunger Games premier.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure that Thai Lotus Restaurant is in the same location that one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants was. It was called Boondocks and they served Filipino food. I am sad it closed, but I should give Thai Lotus a try.
You should definitely give Thai Lotus a try. I thought it was delicious and so cute! It's right across the street from the Salt Lake Library
